Healthy Habits and The Rootlets Trouble in Plantasy Land

The Rootlets are at it again and are now solving mysteries in their second book, Trouble in Plantasy Land. I was honored when I was asked to review The Rootlets Trouble in Plantasy Land. My son, Ashton, absolutely loved their first book, The Rootlets Super Rootablilites. (Check out my original review, The Rootlets Super Rootabilities.) My little love was in 2nd grade when we read the 1st book. At that time, he was not much into reading unless you really pushed him. The Rootlets Super Rootabilities was the first book he actually ENJOYED reading. He did not want to put it down! Due to his first reaction, I had the utmost confidence that The Rootlets Trouble in Plantasy Land would be no exception.

Consequently, I was correct! My now 4th grader loves every minute of this amazing, fun-filled, page-turning journey.  We both love Jeremy Russnak’s bright, vibrant illustrations, and we became captivated by Vicki Marquez’ page-turning written adventure! Each character has an exuberant and unique superpower that helps them become a hero in their own special way. They are then able to problem solve to save their beloved Plantasy Land. This vegetably, delightful tale is filled with wonder, excitement and a smidge of mystery. We love how each character has a name and characteristics that match their vegetable-themed counterpart! My son’s favorite character is Yammy Grammy! Perhaps it was her clever, make-you-chuckle-every-time-you-say-it name!

Author, Vicki Marquez, brings the Rootlets to life in every adventure they pursue.

Vicki is a certified health coach which includes a health science degree. This ambitious, health-conscious woman is an overachiever in every sense of the word, especially considering her plant-based chef certification. Her ultimate dream is to help inspire and encourage kids to want to eat healthily. In October 2014, she published her first book, The Rootlets Super Root Abilities.

You are guaranteed that your up-and-coming reader will not want to put this book down. Don’t be surprised when they ask for a salad or favorite veggie as a snack thereafter! Trouble in Plantasy Land is coming this fall! You will NOT want to miss out on their next delectable adventure.
