Knitter’s Pride offers a variety of wonderful knitting needle sets for every kind of knitter. One of their newest additions is the Nova Cubics Platina Interchangeable Circular Needles Set.  I am so excited and can’t wait to tell you all about it on OMG Goodies!

My Thoughts about Knitter’s Pride Nova Cubics Platina Interchangeable Circular Needles Set

I love any craft that has to do with yarn, particularly knitting and crochet. When I got the opportunity to review the Nova Cubics Platina Interchangeable Circular Needles Set from Knitter’s Pride, I was thrilled! When I decided to teach myself how to knit back in October 2014, I didn’t have any knitting needles on hand, so I grabbed a pair of bamboo kitchen skewers, an odd roll of yarn, and pulled up YouTube to begin my lessons. While the bamboo skewers worked, they wouldn’t be right for any project I had in mind. After asking around, I was able to borrow a set of fixed circular needles from a friend and that’s when I decided I needed to add circular knitting needles to my crafting arsenal. My only issue was, which size should I get first?  The Nova Cubics Platina Interchangeable Circular Needles Set solves that question.

When I first received my Nova Cubics Platina set, my first thought was how pretty they looked. The Chrome plated needles are sleek and the sizes are printed nice and clearly right on the front of each one. After opening the case and handling the needles, my imagination raced as I thought of all of the patterns and yarn just waiting to come to life on these beauties. This deluxe set comes included with the following:

  • US 6 (4.0mm)
  • US 7 (4.5mm)
  • US 8 (5.0mm)
  • US 9 (5.5mm)
  • US 10 (6.0mm)
  • US 10.5 (6.5mm)
  • US 11 (8.0mm)
  • Black & Grey fabric case
  • 4 Cords (to make 24″, 2 of 32″ & 40″)
  • 1 Set of 3 cord connectors
  • 8 End caps
  • 4 Cord keys

Each lightweight needle tip is cuboid in shape with nicely tapered tips that helps make it easier to pick up stitches. This unique shape allows most knitters to ease their grip which lessens hand cramping that usually follows long periods of knitting. Since I tend to have a tighter tension to my stitches, I love how smoothly my stitches move on these needles in comparison with my regular knitting needles. It was also really easy for me to connect the cord to the needle tips, and I didn’t have to worry about the tips falling off when I used the cord key to tighten the connection. I would definitely recommend the Nova Cubics Platina Interchangeable Circular set to anyone who is in the market for new knitting needles.

It certainly would be a big help to have a set of interchangeable needles. Right now I search through a storage box to find what I need for a project, and more often than not, end up buying what I need when I can’t find the right size or length of circular needles!

thinking of tackling my first sweater!

  7. Samantha Bates

These are gorgeous! If I won these, I’d be so excited I’d shake off my intimidation and try my first sweater. Good luck, all!

The first project I’d be trying out….. I have a (very old) jumper (sweater) that belonged to my late sister. I love wearing it as I feel close to her, but I fear I’m wearing it out! 🙁 It’s a wonderfully warm, cabled piece, and for years I’ve wanted to lay it flat on the table and identify & write out the pattern of stitches so I can knit a new version (it was originally a commercially purchased garment, so no printed pattern to follow). I’d love to knit that one in the round (sleeves and body), and this set would be perfect for that! 🙂

I’d love some new needles. I’ve hit a knitting wall-doesn’t help it’s 100 degrees outside.

Love these needles..I would make a shawl for the winter!

  11. Sarah

My first project on these needles would be a lovely shawl with this beautiful pink alpaca/silk/cashmere yarn I bought!

  13. Mary

I have a very long list of future projects, all of which would be more pleasant with this set of needles.

  14. Diane DeLuna

The first thing I would do with these needles is a lace shawl that I have been wanting to make

  15. Bonnie

As a new knitter, the ability to have these at my fingertips would be fabulous. Thanks so much.

  16. Sandy Cain

My first project would be a seamless sweater for my brother, done in the Elisabeth Zimmerman way…..love those circular needles! Thank you Kaitlin for the opportunity to win these!! (((HUGS)))

  17. Sabina

my first project — well since i have only two pairs of the rosewood cubics from knitters pride and one is a size 6 and the other an 11, i’m pretty sure if i had the entire set i could make just about anything i wanted. but i’m thinking a sweater would be nice for next winter since it gets so cold here in New England.

  18. Lydia Fisher Sweatt

i will love the opportunity to add these needles to my collection.

I have cubic Dpn’s and love them for sox. All I use are circular sets and I love them. I have the Knitter’s Pride 16 inch circ set and it is amazing. I use lots of sets of needles as I have a few (usually 5-8) projects going at once. I found that when knitting socks the cubics are very kind to may hands. I love the review of the set it sounds great.

  20. Deb E

I’ve always wanted to try circular needles and my first project would be a Yorkie dog sweater. It could hide a few mistakes, I’m sure, so a good choice for the first project.

  21. Cindy

I may have to try these, thanks for the review!

  22. Caity

I would love a pair of these needles! I would start by making my first pair of socks.

  23. LaShanna Doyle

I have the Knitters Pride Karbonz and love them. There are some yarns that don’t slide well on them though, so the Cubics Platina may be a nice alternative.

  24. Billi

I’ve never used circular needles, but I would love to learn how!

  25. Sara

I’d love to have a fully functional set of circulars. My old set has problems with the joins and are so difficult to use. I think the first thing I’d make would be a stuffed bear. 🙂
