My thoughts about Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival-

I have never taken the opportunity to run through a giant corn maze. I don’t know why I haven’t, because Halloween time is one of my favorite times of year. I was beyond stoked when my family was asked to be a hosted guest at Vertuccio Farms.

My stepson had fall break last week and we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to close out fall break with our final, fun-filled event by checking out Vertuccio Farms on Sunday. I have found many family farms can be slightly hidden and a challenge to find. Vertuccio farms was a mere thirty minute drive from us, located off the San Tan Freeway (202) and Power Avenue. It wasn’t off some beaten path, or hard to locate at all, and had great signage to boot.

We got there right before they opened at 10:00 am. Vertuccio Farms prides themselves on providing you with the ultimate family experience. Unlike most companies, they actually opened their gate entrance a few minutes early to get the festivities started. I noticed there is a minimal, well-worth-it price of only $9 per person, and youngens under 2 are free. Not only is the admission price extremely reasonable, but it is all-inclusive of their copious fall activities. They had my family already listed on the “will call” list and gave us each a yellow wristband to wear during the festival.

Once we entered the fall festival, we were greeted with a giant, and I mean GIANT, inflatable jump pillow and an inflatable jump pad. My stepson and his best friend absolutely LOVED the inflatable pillow. I thought it was absolutely fitting that Vertuccio Farms had bales of hay as “seats” as us out-of-shape adults watched in awe as our kiddos jumped with delight. Did I mention this pillow is HUGE and can easily accommodate many children, and more active adults at once.

Directly behind the inflatables is a playground area with apparatuses that were fun for both kids and adults. It hard to decide what part of the playground we enjoyed most. There is a 2 tiered slide made of construction PVC piping. My stepson and his best friend absolutely loved it and went down several times. There is a large rope spider web my husband climbed on with the boys. They had such a blast “being boys” climbing and laughing the entire time! My husband and I went over and enjoyed swinging on the swing set and seeing who could swing higher. My highlight of the play ground was the “old school” teeter totter that my husband and I climbed on and relived our youth. I love how Vertuccio Farms had things the whole family could participate in together.

Next to the play ground they have a water pump station where you can race rubber ducks back and forth by pumping water and seeing who could get their toy duck to the other side the fastest. There is a small petting zoo directly adjacent to the duck races. We all enjoyed petting this uber cute piggy and a goat. There is even a bubble gum machine that with a quarter and a twist of the dial, you are dispensed and handful of food to feed the animals.

As we continued to walk around the grounds enjoying a slue of other activities. I was drawn to a bee hive exhibit housed in a super cute red building, Behind Plexiglas you can watch the bees working steadily in creating a super large, wondrous honeycomb. My stepson is deathly afraid of bees and I had to practically coax him out of the exhibit house as he watched the miracle of mother nature. There are more animals to pet and interact with, a donkey, cow, turkeys, hens, and bunny rabbits.

Your admission also includes 2 train rides that are run in true farm fashion, cars pulled by a tractor. 1 train is made of water barrels, and the larger train cabooses have a wooden “box” with seats big enough to get 4-6 passengers per car! We had a blast as we were escorted via “train” around the farms.

After the train ride, my stepson and his best friend enjoyed pedaling around on a tire-built pedal car course. My father-in-law has a set of pedal cars and my stepson absolutely loves pedaling around on them. Racing each other around the track was a instant success for him and his best friend. There was one more activity we had to do before we were done for the day.  The corn maze was a must!  This too, is included with your admission! We had built up a hardy appetite and were all ready for lunch before hitting the maze.

I have to say along with the super reasonable admission price, the price of their snacks and lunches, are again, easy on the pocket book. Vertuccio Farms has a little something for every appetite and you can’t beat their lunch combo prices! I opted for the 1/4 lb. beef hotdog combo, a bag of chips of my choice, and soda or bottled water, for an all-inclusive price of only $5.50. The hotdog was AMAZING, and rested on a sesame seed hotdog bun. My husband opted for a pretzel and an a la cart hotdog. The pretzel was nicely sized and the price was even better, $3! My stepson, Ashton, got the pizza combo: 2 slices of pizza and a drink for a mere $5.50. The pizza was the perfect portion-size for the kiddos.

After we cured our hunger, we meandered to the corn maze! I don’t know how I have gone all this time without ever participating in a corn maze! Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival’s corn maze was the perfect accessory to this fun fall day. Upon getting our wrist bands at the admission booth, they handed each of us a scratch off interactive card for the maze. You simply locate each of the 6 check points located throughout the corn maze. At the check point, there is a picture and an option to pick A, B, or C that corresponds to a clue on the back of the scratch card. Choose the right answer and your scratch card will show you gained points, but select the wrong answer and you will loose points as indicated under the gold scratchable surface. My friend and I finished the maze with a completed scratch card and all 6 check points located. We live in Arizona, where we rarely have fall weather until the end of October. My husband, stepson, and his best friend cheated due to the high 90’s temperature that day. and cut the maze short by 2 check points.

Our final stop at the Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival was a market to purchase a pumpkin to fully celebrate the Halloween season. They even had a booth that was selling raw Arizona honey. YUM!

Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival

New York residents and Italian immigrants, Joe and Maria Vertuccio purchased 40 acres of land in Chandler. The Vertuccios began with growing watermelon and orange trees across their property. To make their farm “stand out” they began to operate roadside stands and started a pick-your-own operation and added various crops to increase their selection.

They eventually grew enough produce and fruit to open a farmers market. As their son, Cono, became older, he to began to have an active hand in the family business on the farm. Cono married Angela, who gave him two precious sons. Now the whole family actively helps run the farm.

Vertuccio Farms has continued to diligently worked to throw their Fall Festival, and most importantly, to keep it extremely affordable so the whole family can enjoy it year after year. Vertuccio Farms also hosts events year round, they even offer birthday parties!

Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival is the perfect way to celebrate the coming of autumn. I was super impressed how each and every activity we participated in was all-inclusive. There are signs properly marked with the rules and expectations so everyone can optimally enjoy the event without incident. We will make the Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival a tradition to enjoy every fall season for sure!
