Every toddler loves stacking and building. The Treehouse Stack-up toy takes the place of the stacking rings and the light-up stacking stars my children and I grew up with. More importantly, this treehouse entertains for years longer.
Parents like to find toy companies they can trust. Manhattan Toy Company looks to traditional play and receives the inspiration to design amazing toys you and your children can love. The Treehouse Stack-up, winner of the National Parenting Center Seal of Approval and The Creative 2016 Preferred Choice Award (stacking toys category), increases fine motor skills and allows for great imaginative play. We feel honored to share this review on OMG Goodies with you.
My Thoughts on the Treehouse Stack-up Toy:
I vaguely remember sitting on the hopscotch carpet in my bedroom stacking rings doused in primary colors on a rocking post. We moved from my first childhood home when I was five. My memory of the stacking rings resides in my brain filed under Young Childhood Memories. I stacked those rings in different orders, but usually, as most children do, I stacked them to form a more triangular shape. As an adult, my excitement for colorful stars that lit up and sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star when the smiley face was placed on top, couldn’t be hidden. All of my children played with the stars. None of them came up with stories while they did.
Blocks. Now they made stacking fun! Castles seem to increase everyone’s fun, especially when they fall to the floor with a clatter. My mom still crawls down to the floor to create the most wonderful castles with my young nephews. What fun! So much fun, in fact, that my 12-year-old daughter played with Gramma’s blocks the last time we visited. Blocks are timeless. The Treehouse Stack-up toy promises the same timeless play as blocks. The rings and stars – they remain timeless for the memories alone.
I originally thought the Treehouse Stack-up toy stood on a dowel. I was wrong. This tree house is free standing and quite stable. Stability is important when children as young as 18 months play with the treehouse. Fine motor skills increase as we get older, and the treehouse allows those still learning those motor skills to find success. The twelve piece stack-up toy comes with all the makings of a tree, along with 2 fun, barrel-shaped characters, a cat and an owl. Children will also find 2 tree trunks, the “house” of the treehouse as well as a “room”, and a cone shape that can be used as an owl’s nest.
True to the fun of stacking, the treehouse can topple with the best of block creations. It can also inspire continued imaginative play. There are two barrel-shaped characters, that means they can talk, sing, play, sleep — if you can imagine it, they can do it! Think about it. Who builds a treehouse and never wants to play in it? Some TV shows depend on adults who love treehouses. No one outgrows a treehouse — not even one standing a foot tall in your living room.
I spent my time playing with this incredible treehouse. The simplicity of the toy increased my fun. I created several treehouses and could see many other ways to stack the pieces. Imagine how many different ways your children can find.
Children enjoy playtime with wonderful products from the Manhattan Toy Company. Adults appreciate such simplistic, yet perfect toys that their children can interact with while skills are sharpened and creativity abounds. The Treehouse Stack-up toy brings stacking and imagination together, really, isn’t that what playtime is all about?
